Road Trip Pays de l'Est
August 2016

This summer 2016 marks a memorable road trip in Eastern Europe!

We left friends with 3 cars from the village of Forcalquier, towards the Ozora Festival. This musical event was an opportunity for us to discover the surroundings. We took the opportunity to cross Hungary, through Italy, then Slovenia, to reach Croatia where we had rented a house.

We stopped in the Italian cities Turin, Milan, Trieste and then we crossed the Slovak territory before arriving at our festival. A week of immersion in the area of Ozora, near the small Hungarian village of Dádpuszta.

Once the week was over, we reached the capital by car, with a 1h40 drive. We were in a hostel in the heart of the city, Buda side. We saw the Budavár Palace, seen the Hungarian Parliament, visited its main square with its Hősök tere statue, and walked on its famous 19th-century suspension bridge illuminated at night, the Chain Bridge. The ancient Roman city is also known for its hydrotherapy, which earned us a detour to the famous Széchenyi baths. What to fully guard the future nights of campsites that awaited us.

On our way back, we headed south to Croatia to visit the Krka National Park. This beautiful National Park encompasses part of the Krka River, Lake Visovačko jezero and a multitude of waterfalls, including the Skradin Falls. It's worth the detour !

At the end of our second week, we drove along the coast of the Croatian ridges to reach our final destination: Zadar. The Croatian city on the Dalmatian coast is known for the Roman and Venetian ruins of its old peninsular city.

A journey that has earned us many emotions and which we keep a wonderful and sweet memory.

Here are some pictures of the trip.
